The College Park Cavaliers put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 67-56 victory over Fort Bend Bush. Given College Park's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while Fort Bend Bush is ranked 561st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
College Park's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aiden Buckmon led the charge by scoring 20 points along with 6 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Buckmon has scored at least 25% of College Park's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian Inman, who scored 15 points along with 7 rebounds.
College Park's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Fort Bend Bush, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. College Park will face off against Channelview at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Channelview is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Fort Bend Bush, they will head out on the road to face off against Fort Bend Dulles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
