The Thomas Stone Cougars will head out on the road to challenge the Huntingtown Hurricanes at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Thomas Stone unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 57-56 to McDonough. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Ty Woodland put forth a good effort for the losing side as he dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. Jonas Agyeman was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six assists.
Meanwhile, Huntingtown's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 66-48 bruising from Westlake. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Huntingtown has scored all season.
Thomas Stone's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4. As for Huntingtown, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.
Thomas Stone beat Huntingtown 60-51 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Huntingtown's Emerson Neal, who scored 21 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks. Now that he won't be playing on Wednesday, will it be that much easier for Thomas Stone to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
