The Roxboro Community Bulldogs had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 61.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with a 41-29 victory over Eno River. This was payback for Roxboro Community, who suffered a 38-32 loss the last time these two teams met.
Leading Roxboro Community to victory were Karrie Obie and Katherine-kaey "katie" Mann. Obie dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Mann scored 16 points along with three steals. Mann is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylyn Pope, who scored four points.
Roxboro Community pushed their record up to 8-5 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-6 Henderson Collegiate and 5-8 Oxford Prep (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 31.6% over those games). As for Eno River, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Roxboro Community won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Oxford Prep at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. As for Eno River, they will be playing at home against Henderson Collegiate at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
