The Tampa Bay Tech Titans can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top against Strawberry Crest by a score of 42-32. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Tampa Bay Tech also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tampa Bay Tech to victory, but perhaps none more so than Breanna Hartley, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Hartley continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Azjannie Culberth, who scored eight points along with 14 rebounds and eight steals.
Strawberry Crest's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elektra Ribot, who scored 12 points. Ribot scored a full 37.5% of Strawberry Crest's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Tia, who scored nine points.
Tampa Bay Tech pushed their record up to 5-7 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Strawberry Crest, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tampa Bay Tech won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lennard at 6:30 p.m. on January 10th. Strawberry Crest won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Sumner at 6:30 p.m. on January 10th. Sumner presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Strawberry Crest in Florida (Sumner is ranked 101st, while Strawberry Crest is ranked 450th).
