Softball Recap: Raymond Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Raymond came tearing into Monday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Conant Orioles. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Rams also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Dinkenesh Levesque made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sophie Huynh, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Lily-Mae Lemieux, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Raymond's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Conant, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Coincidentally, Raymond and Conant will both be playing Prospect Mountain the next time they take the field. The Rams will host the Timberwolves at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Orioles will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
