The Central Cambria Red Devils scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They came out on top against Bishop Carroll by a score of 65-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Central Cambria's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brayden Swope led the charge by scoring 23 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Swope has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Grady Snyder, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and five assists.
Despite the loss, Bishop Carroll saw an underclassman step up: Jace Casses scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Casses posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Luke Repko, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Central Cambria now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Bishop Carroll, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season.
Central Cambria won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Chestnut Ridge at 7:15 p.m. on January 17th. Chestnut Ridge has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 262 points over their last four matchups. As for Bishop Carroll, they will head out on the road to challenge Huntingdon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Huntingdon is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
