Basketball Recap: Quincy Skates Past East Moline United with Ease

Quincy won against Alleman last Thursday with 66 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. The Quincy Blue Devils breezed by the East Moline United Panthers to the tune of 66-27. The Blue Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 20 points or more this season.

Leading Quincy to victory were Jada Brown and Khloe Nicholson. Brown dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds, while Nicholson shot 4-for-7 from long range and almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine assists. Brown is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last seven games she's played. Madelyn Hamby was another key player, going 5 for 10 on her way to 12 points and six steals.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Quincy was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Quincy's record is now 17-10. As for East Moline United, they dropped their record down to 1-28 with the loss, which was their tenth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Quincy will venture away from home to challenge Hannibal at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Moline United, they are taking a road trip to face off against Richwoods at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Richwoods will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something East Moline United surely won't give up without a fight.
