The Kingston Cougars will square off against the Central Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kingston will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while Central is ranked 32nd).
Last Thursday, Kingston came up short against South Iron and fell 50-41. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Kingston in their matchups with South Iron: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, Central stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They breezed by Fredericktown on the road to the tune of 70-38. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Central just coasted through the last quarter.
Central relied on the efforts of Caden Casey, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds and five steals, and Jobe Bryant, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine assists. Bryant is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 16 every time he's taken the court this season. Zack Boyd was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
Kingston's loss dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Central, their victory bumped their record up to 17-3.
