The Edison Eagles''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by St. Thomas Aquinas 48-8. Edison was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 24-0.
Elijah Abass-shereef was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 120 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. Another player making a difference was Chase Young, who rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries.
Edison has fallen quite a ways from their 9-4 record last season and are now at 3-6. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Edison will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Piscataway at 7:00 p.m. Piscataway is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. St. Thomas Aquinas will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Holy Spirit at 6:00 p.m. on November 3rd.
