Basketball Game Preview: Hemlock Huskies vs. Dow Chargers

The Hemlock Huskies will take on the Dow Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hemlock has seven straight wins, Dow has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Hemlock is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Carrollton: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Hemlock blew Carrollton out of the water with a 54-14 final score. The Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 23 points or more this season.

Victoria Hauffe continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and four steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 18 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinsley Conger, who went 6 of 10 on her way to 14 points.

Hemlock was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, Dow came up short against Heritage on Friday and fell 40-29. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 166th, while the Hawks are ranked ninth).

Hemlock's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.0 points per game. As for Dow, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
