Volleyball Recap: Mare Island Tech Academy Wins Going Away Against Griffin Academy

Mare Island Tech Academy had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Griffin Academy on Wednesday. Mare Island Tech Academy blew past Griffin Academy 3-0. That three set margin sets a new team best for Mare Island Tech Academy this season.

Mare Island Tech Academy never let Griffin Academy on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-13, 25-16.

Despite the loss, Griffin Academy still got an impressive performance from Valeria Lopez, who had 36 digs. Lopez is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Saharah Galvin, who had 24 assists.
