Basketball Recap: Westmoreland Wins Going Away Against Hunters Lane

Westmoreland won the last time they faced Hunters Lane and things went their way on Friday too. The stars were shining brightly for the Westmoreland Eagles in a 52-37 win over the Hunters Lane Warriors. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kenyan Booker, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 12 points. Booker continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Amarien Kelly, who posted ten points.

Westmoreland has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. As for Hunters Lane, their defeat was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westmoreland will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Macon County at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Hunters Lane will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Hume-Fogg at 7:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
