Gretta France made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Manchester, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They put the hurt on Northfield with a sharp 10-2 win on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Squires have posted against the Norsemen since May 13, 2015.
Molly Schannep spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Hadley West was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted over her last 11 matches. Another player making a difference was Ava Sautter, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Manchester was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .344 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Wabash's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Manchester, their record is now 13-14.
Wabash came up short against Manchester when the teams last played back in April, falling 8-4. Can the Apaches avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
