The losing side was boosted by Ty Farns, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 15 points and seven rebounds. Farns is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Cody Trimm was another key player, putting up seven points and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Boquet Valley strolled past Seton Catholic Central with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 55-36.
Colton-Pierrepont better keep an eye on Carson Leibeck. He was instrumental in Boquet Valley's win, going 12 of 23 on his way to 26 points and four steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Leibeck has scored at least a third of Boquet Valley's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Colba Furman, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Boquet Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.
Boquet Valley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points per game. As for Colton-Pierrepont, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Colton-Pierrepont has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 28.3 boards per game. However, it's not like Boquet Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.9 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Colton-Pierrepont and Boquet Valley were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, but Colton-Pierrepont came up empty-handed after a 47-46 loss. Can Colton-Pierrepont avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
