The Moffat County Bulldogs had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 39-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Uintah. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Moffat County in their matchups with Uintah: they've now lost three in a row.
Moffat County's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Katie Jo Knez, who scored 6 points along with 6 rebounds.
Moffat County struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Uintah pulled down 13.
Charlee Gilroy was the offensive standout of the game as she scored 10 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Uintah's points. Rylee Crane was another key contributor, scoring 7 points.
Moffat County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Uintah, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Moffat County will take on Eagle Valley at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Eagle Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Thursday. As for Uintah, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Emery at 6:00 p.m. on November 30th. Emery will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
