PANAMA, N.Y. - the Panthers scored 41 points in the third quarter to secure a big 34-8 victory over
Pine Valley Central (South Dayton, N.Y.) on Saturday.
Panama scored on a rushing touchdown and a passing touchdown in the quarter.
PHS scored the winning points with a touchdown that came in the third quarter.
Pine Valley Central's only touchdown came on a pass in the fourth quarter.
The Panthers also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 27-0.
The victory was a step in the right direction for Panama, which was coming off a 38-14 defeat at the hands of Cattaraugus-Little Valley in its previous game. The loss was the third in a row for the Panthers.
In a Section 6 DD game next week Panama (2-1) takes on Frewsburg, and Pine Valley Central (0-3) will go up against Sherman also in a Section 6 DD game.
