Irondequoit is on a four-game streak of home losses, Spencerport a nine-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Irondequoit Eagles will take on the Spencerport Rangers at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Irondequoit will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 456th, while Spencerport is ranked 219th).
Last Friday, Irondequoit came up short against Gates Chili and fell 54-46.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Kailey Besio, who scored 22 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Bottiglier, who scored eight points along with five assists and two steals.
Even though they lost, Irondequoit were working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Spencerport didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Honeoye Falls-Lima on January 5th, but they still walked away with a 47-42 victory. The win was just what Spencerport needed coming off of a 60-40 loss in their prior match.
Irondequoit has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season. As for Spencerport, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
