On Friday, The Valley Vikings faced the Potlatch Loggers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Valley enjoyed a cozy 30-16 victory over Potlatch. The win made it back-to-back wins for Valley.
Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Thomas Vargas, who rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries. Vargas was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 59 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Damian, who rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Valley's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 49.5 points per game. As for Potlatch, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3.
Valley will square off against Butte County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Butte County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 152 points over their last three matchups. Potlatch does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
