Shawnee is 0-10 against the Appleknockers since March of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Shawnee Redskins will head out on the road to challenge the Cobden Appleknockers at 6:00 p.m. Shawnee is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, Shawnee didn't have too much trouble with the Wildcats at home as they won 56-40.
Meanwhile, Cobden's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt a 75-32 loss at the hands of Meridian. While losing is never fun, Cobden can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 701st, while the Bobcats are ranked 296th).
Shawnee's victory bumped their record up to 9-16. As for Cobden, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-15 record this season.
Shawnee might still be hurting after the 59-39 defeat they got from the Appleknockers when the teams last played back in January. Can Shawnee avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
