Wheat State (8 Man) recap Oct. 30, 2012
Solomon and Pretty Prairie played the most hotly contested game in Wheat State (8 Man) this week, with Solomon eventually emerging with a 20-18 victory. Colton Shirack threw for 75 yards and ran for 109 yards in the win.
Peabody-Burns led the league in scoring this week after putting up 62 points on Lebo. Hunter Pickens threw for 231 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 150 yards in the win.
The Warriors' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Braxton Kyle helped Peabody-Burns' passing attack out by catching two balls for 30 yards.
Jayden Miller made the biggest impact on defense this week as Peabody-Burns beat the Wolves. The 6-foot-3 defensive end forced two fumbles and racked up 2.5 sacks.
Seth Topham was the best wideout in the league this week as David Pickens' team topped Lebo. Topham racked up 11 receptions for 188 yards.
Goessel's Trey Schmidt and Nic Buller have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Wheat State (8 Man) in both passing and receiving yards. Schmidt has thrown for 1649 yards this season, while Buller, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 36 catches for 624 yards. Shirack from the Gorillas leads the league in rushing with 998 yards.
Ethan Wright has rushed for 949 yards on 122 carries so far this year.
