Nick Hall made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season.
In other batting news, Mason Bigos and Bode Kenney did most of the damage at the plate: Bigos went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Kenney got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most RBI Bigos has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Kash Perkins, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Show Low was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .526. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .323 or higher in eight consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Superior, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over Morenci on Friday. The Panthers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
The result came thanks to Ryland Duarte's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Raiden Sommer, who went 1-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. That run marked the first that he has scored this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Ramirez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one RBI.
The victory got Superior back to even at 2-2. As for Show Low, their record now sits at 2-0.
Show Low beat Superior 6-3 in their previous matchup back in March of 2020. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
