On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jaxon Humble, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI. Bradley Central is undefeated when Humble posts three or more RBI, but 6-10-1 otherwise. Bronson Stone was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.
Bradley Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .640. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Hamilton). They were the clear victors by a 19-2 margin over Howard Tech on Thursday. The Hurricanes haven't had any issues with the Hustlin' Tigers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Peyton Hunter made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Mason Wolcott was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Dylan Bielas also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Bradley Central is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-10-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for East Hamilton, their record is now 12-9.
Bradley Central skirted past East Hamilton 3-2 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
