Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Burlington). They put the hurt on the Limon Badgers with a sharp 11-4 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won three games by six runs or more so far this season.
Scout Humrich was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Darian McDonough, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Burlington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Limon only posted an OBP of .371.
Burlington's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6. As for Limon, the defeat snapped their winning streak at ten games and leaves them with a 10-3 record.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Burlington will head out to challenge Colby at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Limon, they will venture away from home to square off against Akron at 4:00 p.m. on the 24th.
