The Choudrant Aggies had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 49 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They had just enough and edged Simsboro out 77-74. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Michael Jones had a dynamite game for Choudrant, scoring 37 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Jones has scored at least a third of Choudrant's points. Another player making a difference was Lawson Stevens, who scored ten points.
Choudrant pushed their record up to 20-12 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Simsboro, their loss dropped their record down to 20-12.
Choudrant will be playing at home against the Demons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Downsville comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Simsboro, they will head out on the road to square off against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Forest will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 369th, while the Tigers are ranked 164th).
