Lockwood/Golden City (11-2) has a real challenge coming up -- the hardest it has met all year. Both it and Valle Catholic (11-1) have made it this far into the playoffs, but they square off this Saturday at 1:00 PM to determine who is worthy to move on. Each team will be battling to keep its win streak alive, with Lockwood/Golden City having won six in a row and Valle Catholic five.
Lockwood/Golden City went up against Lincoln last week. Lockwood/Golden City's defense took a beating in the first half, giving up 25 points. That put it down 25 - 20. Thankfully, the offense came through for it, scoring 20 in the second half. That gave it just enough oomph to take the game with a final score of 40 - 33.
Meanwhile, Valle Catholic has netted another blowout to add to its collection (now totaling ten) after its most recent game. It took its game against Thayer last week by a confident 33 - 10 score.
While both teams are coming off of wins, only one will triumph this week. We'll find out soon enough who that will be.
