The Ocean City Raiders have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They came out on top against Absegami by a score of 63-50 on Monday. This was payback for Ocean City, who suffered a 52-34 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ocean City to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brielle Smith, who scored 19 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Madelyn Adamson, who scored 18 points along with two steals.
Ocean City's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10. As for Absegami, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-6.
Ocean City will be playing at home against Middle Township at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Middle Township presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Ocean City in New Jersey (Middle Township is ranked 23rd, while Ocean City is ranked 164th). As for Absegami, they will take on Wildwood Catholic at TBD on Wednesday. Wildwood Catholic is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
