McKean's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top against DuPont by a score of 4-0.
The result came thanks to Gavin Erbayri's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jey Oquendo, who scored two runs while going 4-for-4.
Mount Pleasant never got on the board in their matchup on Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against MOT Charter on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Mustangs. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Green Knights' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Derek Smith and Christian Mascucchini made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Smith tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Mascucchini struck out eight batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. At the plate, Smith went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double, while Mascucchini scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Chase Wilson was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Molina, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
Mount Pleasant always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The win got Mount Pleasant back to even at 2-2. As for McKean, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-1-1.
