The Gulf Breeze Dolphins are taking a road trip to face off against the Crestview Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Gulf Breeze is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Gulf Breeze and Navarre meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. Gulf Breeze walked away with a 10-7 victory over Navarre.

Jacey Reed was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Reed was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and one double. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Sally Alberson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.
Gulf Breeze lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Crestview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 9-8 to Tate, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
Ava Secor was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Moriah Keith also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Gulf Breeze has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. Crestview's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.
Crestview's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Gulf Breeze has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Crestview, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.7 strikeouts. Will Gulf Breeze keep running through batters, or will Crestview buck the trend?
Gulf Breeze skirted past Crestview 4-2 in their previous matchup back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gulf Breeze since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
