Even though the Northgate Flames have not done well against the Sto-Rox Vikings recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Northgate breezed by Sto-Rox at home to the tune of 81-52. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Northgate.
Several Vikings players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Shalen Burton, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Burton has scored all season. Another player making a difference was David Johnson, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Northgate now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Sto-Rox, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northgate will square off against New Castle at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. New Castle will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Sto-Rox won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Shaler Area at 7:30 p.m. on December 13th. Shaler Area will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.
