Casa Roble has gone 9-1 against El Camino recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Rams will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Casa Roble is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.
Casa Roble had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Del Campo on Wednesday. The Rams blew past the Cougars 10-2. The win continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won four in a row.
Alyssa Godwin made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Godwin was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, Casa Roble let Elizabeth Seider and Zaria Gee run wild. Seider went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Gee got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Those three hits gave Seider a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gianna Giannini, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.
Casa Roble kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are undefeated (7-0) when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, El Camino was able to grind out a solid victory over Woodland last Thursday, taking the game 9-4.
Oaklee Schwartz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on 11 hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Claire Schwartz, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ilaina Yavrom, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
El Camino's win bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Casa Roble, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5-1.
El Camino's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Casa Roble has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.3 hits per game. It's a different story for El Camino, though, as they've been averaging 9.8 hits. Given Casa Roble's sizable advantage in that area, the Eagles will need to find a way to close that gap.
Casa Roble took their win against El Camino in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 15-2 score. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
