The Ocean Springs Greyhounds pushed their score all the way to 69 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 73-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of Harrison Central. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Tuesday (60), Ocean Springs still had to take the loss.
Aujaylen Barron was his usual excellent self, scoring 34 points along with two steals for Harrison Central. Nehemiah Barnett was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five assists and three steals.
Ocean Springs' defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-4. As for Harrison Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.
Ocean Springs will be playing at home against D'Iberville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. D'Iberville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while Ocean Springs is ranked 23rd). As for Harrison Central, they will take on Ridgeland at 11:30 a.m. on Monday. Hopefully Ridgeland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Tuesday.
