After having lost a blowout in their previous game against South Lenoir, Richlands was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They skirted past the East Duplin Panthers 7-5. The Wildcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Hayden Turner made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Caleb Simco was excellent, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Tanner Brinson, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
The victory got Richlands back to even at 2-2. As for East Duplin, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
