The Madison Blue Streaks typically have all the answers at home, but on Wednesday the Edgewood Warriors proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 58-50 victory over the Blue Streaks. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Edgewood.
Edgewood's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mckenna Vencill, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Mccollister, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds and seven assists.
Edgewood's victory was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for Madison, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-4.
Edgewood will take on Conneaut at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Conneaut focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Wednesday. As for Madison, they will head out on the road to take on Harvey at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Madison is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Harvey in Ohio (Madison is ranked 164th, while Harvey is ranked 624th).
