Flint Hill scored a shocking upset when it eliminated Sidwell Friends, 48-15. At the time, the Quakers were ranked 15th in the state, while the Huskies were 114th.
Flint Hill added to the longest winning streak in Mid-Atlantic [MAC] this week by beating Sidwell Friends, 48-15. The victory was the fifth in a row for Tom Verbanic's team.
Grant Tribble was a key player and the best on defense this week as St. James topped Maret. The 5-foot-9 junior pulled down 1 interception.
Sherman Harris provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Saints defeated the Frogs. He completed 9 passes for 124 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 74 yards. Harris' favorite target this week was Justin Pank, who caught 4 passes for 76 yards.
Josh Hansan was the best wideout in the league this week as Potomac School beat Randolph-Macon Academy. Hansan racked up 4 receptions for 148 yards. James Gilbert helped Potomac School's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 20 yards.
6-foot-0 quarterback Ted Hefter of John Simon's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,313. He has also thrown 18 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Hansan. The Potomac School star has 25 catches for 665 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Potomac School takes on second place Flint Hill. Last week, the Panthers topped the Yellowjackets, while the Huskies defeated the Quakers.
CAMERON VAUGHN of the Flint Hill is just 86 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. VAUGHN has rushed for 914 yards on 98 carries so far this year.
Sidwell Friends lost to the Huskies 48-15 last week, the largest margin of any game. Terrance Horne ran for 143 yards in the loss.
