Softball Recap: Piedra Vista Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Piedra Vista had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past the Farmington Scorpions 11-1. Considering the Panthers have won 13 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on TAQUIRA HOOD, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of TARYN SORRELHORSE, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Piedra Vista always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .520. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Farmington only posted an OBP of .250.

Piedra Vista's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-7-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Farmington, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-13-1.

As of now, neither Piedra Vista nor the Scorpions have any future games scheduled.
