The Thomas Jefferson Vikings on the road again on Friday and play against the J.R. Tucker Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Thomas Jefferson posted their closest victory yet this season on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 58-55 victory over Glen Allen. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Thomas Jefferson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zaymon Harris, who scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harris has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Sampson, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, J.R. Tucker had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Deep Run by a score of 52-39 on Tuesday. That looming 52-39 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for J.R. Tucker yet this season.
Thomas Jefferson's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for J.R. Tucker, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-9.
Thomas Jefferson didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against J.R. Tucker when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 66-61 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Thomas Jefferson since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
