Ansonia extended the longest winning streak in Naugatuck Valley - Brass this week by beating Crosby, 50-8. This was the team's 10th consecutive win.
The Bulldogs fell to Ansonia 50-8 last week, the largest margin of any game. Christopher Herrera ran for 85 yards in the defeat.
Michael Kreiger was a passing and rushing force as Derby fell to Woodland Regional. He completed 8 passes for 151 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 100 yards. Kreiger's favorite target this week was Sal Frosceno, who caught 2 passes for 80 yards.
Jai'Quan McKnight and Arkeel Newsome gave Thomas Brockett's team a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. McKnight threw for 119 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Newsome ran for 120 yards. Teammate Dante D'Ambrosie added to the ground attack by rushing for 52 yards.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Myles Goulbourne. The Crosby star has 52 catches for 883 yards.
Anthony Yordon has rushed for 946 yards on 172 carries so far this year.
Seymour made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,045 from 7,328. The improvement was largely due to a 21-6 victory over Wilby last week.
