The Mt. Gilead Indians were the 53-50 winner over the Danville Blue Devils when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Mt. Gilead fell 63-53 to Danville on Tuesday. Mt. Gilead has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Indians players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Faith White, who scored 14 points along with six assists and five rebounds. The match was White's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Greer Simpson was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds.
Mt. Gilead has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Danville, their victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Gilead will challenge Lucas at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Danville's road trip will continue as they head out to face Centerburg at 6:45 p.m. on January 12th. Centerburg will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
