Hart County is 0-4 against Washington County since April of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. Hart County will look to defend their home field against Washington County at 6:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Hart County took a eight-run loss the last time they faced off against Edmonson County, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Hart County won by a run and slipped past Edmonson County 8-7. Eight seems to be a good number for the Raiders as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Ethan Booher looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Austin Martin, who scored two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Zach Sloan was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Washington County narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past East Jessamine 3-2. That's two games straight that the Commanders have won by just one run.
Camden Abell made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits (and not a single walk). He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Washington County is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 1-2 otherwise. Abell was also big at the plate, going 3-for-6 with one double and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that he brought in this season.
Abell wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Mackin, who went 1-for-5 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base was Mackin's first of the season.
The victory made it two in a row for Hart County and bumps their season record up to 2-3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Washington County, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Hart County couldn't quite get it done against Washington County when the teams last played back in April of 2023 as they fell 9-6. Can Hart County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
