Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Calhoun Academy). Everything went their way against the Hebron Christian Eagles on Monday as they made off with a 27-6 win. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won ten games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Levi Walls made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Walls was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other pitching news, Jaxon McCostlin looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Calhoun Academy got a massive performance out of Layton Logan, who scored four runs and stole five bases while going 1-for-3. Calhoun Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Hebron Christian, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.
