Adding to the longest winning streak in Washington Catholic this week, DeMatha beat St. John's 31-10. This was the team's ninth consecutive win.
Archbishop Carroll took down Chavez 49-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Scottie Law threw for 126 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 92 yards during the win.
Tyreek Ransome was a key player and the best on defense this week as the Lions defeated Chavez. The 6-foot-2 sophomore forced 1 fumble, recorded 1 fumble and grabbed 1 sack.
Law and Keon Singleton gave Archbishop Carroll a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Christan Melgar also contributed to the rushing game with 122 yards on the ground.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Bishop McNamara's Ramar Williams and Jordan Crockett have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-1 quarterback Williams has thrown for 2,659 yards this season, while Crockett has 55 catches for 1,213 yards. Rick Houchens' team's Melgar leads the league in rushing yards with 1,010.
In 145 carries Taiwan Deal has accumulated 940 yard this year.
The Lions made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,730 from 5,859. The improvement was the result of a 49-0 victory over George Coleman's team last week.
