The Mountainside Wolves's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their tenth straight loss. They were dealt a 89-29 loss at the hands of Highland Prep. Mountainside has not had much luck with Highland Prep recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Josiah Cheeks went supernova for Highland Prep, almost dropping a triple-double on 23 points, nine steals, and nine blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cheeks has scored all season. Kohen Hill was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with eight assists and five steals.
Mountainside's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Highland Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season.
Mountainside will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Glendale Prep Academy at 5:30 p.m. As for Highland Prep, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Phoenix Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Phoenix Christian will be looking to extend their current 13-game winning streak.
