The Byron Nelson Bobcat lost against the Keller Central Chargers back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Byron Nelson fell 43-35 to the Chargers. While losing is never fun, Byron Nelson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 886th, while the Chargers are ranked 286th).
Several Bobcat players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kinsey Morris, who scored 12 points along with five assists. Kennedy Moss was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Keller Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Riley Maxwell led the charge by scoring 12 points. Maxwell continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Skylaah Benbow, who scored nine points.
Byron Nelson has been struggling recently as they've lost 18 of their last 20 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-25 record this season. As for Keller Central, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-13.
Byron Nelson will face off against the Dragons at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Southlake Carroll will be looking to keep their nine-game home win streak alive. Keller Central will take on the Panthers at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Adriana Robles and Malaiyah Foster.
