Trevor Trimble made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Trimble is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.
In other batting news, Braylen Wegner was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Owen Kneifl, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Arlington entered their tilt with Guardian Angels Central Catholic/West Point Beemer on Monday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against Guardian Angels Central Catholic/West Point Beemer. While the Eagles didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
The team relied heavily on Luke Sharp, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Marfisi, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Thurston-Cuming County now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Arlington, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Thurston-Cuming County has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Arlington struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Thurston-Cuming County beat Arlington 9-6 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will Thurston-Cuming County repeat their success, or does Arlington has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
