The biggest upset of the week belonged to South Grand Prairie, who defeated 49th ranked Duncanville, 15-8.
DeSoto extended the longest winning streak in 5A Region I District 7 this week by beating Grand Prairie, 67-7. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.
Jeremiah Drake put up the best numbers in passing as the Panthers fell to the Warriors. He had a total of 21 completions for 131 yards. Drake's favorite target this week was Jason McCown, who caught 4 passes for 35 yards.
Duncanville's Drake and Devante Smith have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback Drake has thrown for 2,053 yards this season, while Smith has 59 catches for 663 yards. Midlothian's Victor Williams leads the league in rushing yards with 1,086.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when DeSoto takes on Mansfield. Claude Mathis' team is currently in first, while the Tigers are in fourth.
South Grand Prairie scaled the state rankings by moving to 86 from 124 this week, the biggest jump in 5A Region I District 7. Brent Whitson's team was able to move up by besting Jeff Dicus' team 15-8.
