With a playoff game on the line, the Poth Pirates rose to the challenge on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 26-7 win over the Eagles. The win was familiar territory for Poth who now have 12 in a row.
Despite the defeat, Lexington had strong showings from Owen Rhodus, who picked up 106 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Kase Evans, who threw for 198 yards and a touchdown.
Even if they lost, Lexington's defense sure didn't make it easy: Poth's QB was sacked three times before it was all said and done. In that department, Zack Carter was the leader with two sacks.
Poth has yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 12-1 record. As for Lexington, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-4.
Poth will take on Tidehaven at TBD on Friday. Tidehaven has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 342 points over their last seven matches. Lexington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
