Salem is 0-8 against Mascoutah since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Salem Wildcats will look to defend their home court against the Mascoutah Indians at 7:30 p.m. Mascoutah took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Salem, who comes in off a win.
Salem's four-game losing streak came to an end on Saturday. They blew past Cisne 68-48. The win was just what Salem needed coming off of a 44-14 defeat in their prior contest.
Among those leading the charge was Connor Tennyson, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Salem's points. Noah Nix was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Mascoutah came up short against Mt. Vernon on Saturday and fell 53-43. Mascoutah has struggled against Mt. Vernon recently, as their match on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
The losses dropped Salem to 2-5 and Cisne to 2-4.
