The Berkshire Badgers will head out to take on the Rootstown Rovers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Berkshire is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
Berkshire took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Kenston, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Badgers skirted past the Bombers 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Badgers have posted since April 21st.

Moira Wonders spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on 12 hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Berkshire saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Whitney Davis, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. LeeAnn Baise also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Rootstown got themselves on the board against Kirtland on Monday, but Kirtland never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over the Hornets. That 17-run margin sets a new team best for the Rovers this season.
Cheyenne Cutright was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs.
In other batting news, Morgan Giebel was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. Another player making a difference was Lilly Kamenash, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Rootstown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kirtland only posted an OBP of .263.
Berkshire's record is now 13-9. As for Rootstown, their record now sits at 11-7-1.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Berkshire hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .365. However, it's not like Rootstown struggles in that department as they've averaged .339. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Berkshire beat Rootstown 4-0 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Do the Badgers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rovers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
