Hanover Park moved up to 172 from 233 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Northwest Jersey - Freedom. The Hornets climbed the ranks as a result of topping Madison 28-7.
Hackettstown was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from eighth to sixth in the league. Earlier in the week, the Tigers defeated Parsippany 35-14.
Anthony Volante was the best wideout in the league this week as Hanover Park topped the Dodgers. Volante racked up 3 receptions for 98 yards. Max Reynolds helped Hanover Park's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 51 yards.
Gerry Moore's team's Matt Hoberman and Anthony Bassolino have formed a dream team this season, leading Northwest Jersey - Freedom in both passing and receiving yards. Hoberman has thrown for 476 yards this season, while Bassolino, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 6 catches for 173 yards. Ben Cramer from Newton leads the league in rushing with 472 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Lenape Valley takes on Kittatinny Regional. As it stands, the Patriots are in third, while the Cougars are in first.
Lenape Valley took down Sussex County Tech 48-18 last week, the largest margin of any game.
