Baseball Recap: Bethel Victorious

Bethel won the last time they faced Northridge and things went their way on Saturday too. The Bees came out on top against the Polar Bears by a score of 8-3.

Troy Hunt and Brennan Montgomery did most of the damage at the plate: Hunt got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs, while Montgomery went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three runs gave Hunt a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Maxwell, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Bethel now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Northridge, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Bethel will take on Milton-Union at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northridge, they will venture away from home to face off against Troy Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Polar Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
